Paul C. Germolus
Paul C. Germolus has been in the practice of law since 1997, and is a founding partner of the Germolus Knoll & Leibel, LLP Law Firm. His primary areas of practice are business and commercial transactions, real estate transactions and real property law, agricultural law, oil and gas, probate and estate planning.
Paul was raised on a farm outside Borup, Minnesota where he was involved with his family’s grain and livestock farming operation. In 1989, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University in agricultural economics and a minor in business administration, with additional emphasis in agronomy courses. During his undergraduate years, Paul was employed by Centrol, Inc., an agronomic consulting firm, where he provided a variety of field scouting and crop consulting services.
Following graduation, Paul was employed as a commodities merchandiser for the Archer Daniels Midland Company from 1989 to 1994. Stationed in Ontario, Canada, Paul worked at the largest fully integrated multi-oilseed crushing and refining facility in Canada. His responsibilities included merchandising cereal grains, oilseeds, protein meals, and refined edible oils, truck and rail logistics, coordination of the U.S. canola oil export program, and managing sales of Canadian Government-subsidized packaged oil exports to third-world nations.
Returning to law school in 1994, Paul received a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in 1997, with an emphasis on courses in environmental and agricultural law. While in law school, Paul was employed as a law clerk for the City Attorney's Office, and the law firm of Letnes, Marshall & Swanson, Ltd. After law school, Paul was employed with the Letnes Firm as an associate attorney, practicing in the areas of Municipal Law, Insurance Law, Commercial Law and Estate Planning.
In 1998, Paul was appointed as an Assistant Attorney General in North Dakota; serving in that capacity for seven years. During that time, Paul represented the Agriculture Commissioner, Oil & Gas Division of the Industrial Commission, North Dakota Game and Fish Department, and numerous other State natural resource agencies. In February, 2005, Paul founded Germolus Law Office, and worked as a sole practitioner for four years. Prior to forming Germolus Knoll & Leibel, LLP, Paul was a partner in another Bismarck law firm.
Paul is licensed to practice in all state courts in North Dakota, and the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Paul is a member of: American Agricultural Law Association (Member since 1997); State Bar Association of North Dakota (Member of Real Property & Probate Section and Business & Corporations Section); and Big Muddy Bar Association.
