Charlene Smith

Charlene Smith began as a paralegal in 2008 when she joined the United States Army. As a soldier in the U.S. Army, Charlene was employed at Fort Richardson, Alaska as a member of the United States Army Alaska Judge Advocate General’s office where she primarily did criminal work. Upon separating from the Army, Charlene returned to Bismarck and became a paralegal for a busy law firm where she primarily worked in the family law arena.

Charlene obtained her certification as a certified paralegal from the National Association of Legal Assistants in 2013; certification as an advanced certified paralegal in Family Law in 2014; and holds Bachelor of Science degree in history education and a Master of Science degree in law.  Charlene is a member of the Western Dakota Association of Legal Assistants (WDALA) where she currently holds the position of Secretary, as well as the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA), and continues to further her legal education by attending seminars, online courses, and writing or presenting on various topics to the members of WDALA. 

Charlene resides in Wing with Bryan and her three faithful companions, Orion, Lucy and Daisy. She is the mother of two adult boys, Joshua and Caleb, and a daughter-in-law, Natalie. Charlene also has three grandchildren. In her free time, Charlene enjoys spending time with her dogs, tending to her garden (summer) or gaming with her children, grandchildren and other family members.
